Vancouver Island School Readings

Just back from a trip to Vancouver Island where I gave readings of Adventure on Whalebone Island to over 600 kids. Over three days I was at Arden, Robb Rd., Gaglardi Academy, Puntledge Park, and Cumberland Community School in the Comox/Courtenay area, as well as Qualicum Beach Elementary, Oceanside in Parksville, and Cedar Elementary in Nanaimo.

Thanks to all the teachers and librarians for organizing this mini-tour, and to all the kids for being such a great audience.

Adventure on Whalebone Island is now available at Mulberry Bush bookstores in Parksville and Qualicum and Laughing Oyster Bookstore in Courtenay.

Thank you for coming to my son's class at Ecole Robb Rd. Thank you for enabling this day....the first day my 9 yr old son can NOT put a chapter book down and must find out what happens next. He has always loved us reading to him in English and he has read to us in French. However, apart from some comic books, he has not been what I would call a "reader" yet. But as "they" say it's about finding the right book for each child. And today - your book is that right book. He's hooked and I'm so delighted! Please write more!

Thanks so much for your comment Sandra. I'm so glad he enjoyed it.

The next book is at the printers right now and should be available before the end of November. I hope he likes it as much as the first one!
